Who We Are

We built our firm to be everything typical consultancies are not.

Optimus SBR was built on a simple but powerful premise. Let’s build a consulting organization where we would want to work; our employees come first, culture is key, and our clients would love to work with us. This idea has blossomed into an entirely new way of thinking.

Since its inception Optimus SBR has understood that the success of the firm was dependent on creating a positive and engaging work environment.

In only a decade, we have increased our employee headcount nearly tenfold, outgrown our offices twice, been consistently named one of the fastest-growing companies in North America, and recognized several times as a top employer.

In short, we built our firm to be everything typical consultancies are not, and it’s safe to say our vision is working.

The Optimus SBR Journey

2010

Our journey began in November 2010 when Optimus Consulting Group and Kemerer Group Inc. came together to acquire SBR Global. Optimus SBR hit the ground running with 30 employees, focusing on our core strengths in financial services, energy, and health care. Through hard work, perseverance, and a little bit of luck, Optimus SBR began down the path to establish itself as a firm to be reckoned with.

2012

We marked our second acquisition and expansion of our healthcare practice with the purchase of RWS Advisory. This acquisition enhanced our ability to provide specialized consulting services within the healthcare industry.

2013

Following the suggestion of an employee, Optimus introduced our first employee-led committee focused on Corporate Social Responsibility. This committee spawned the creation of seven other committees that help drive the culture here at Optimus.

2016

We grew our public sector practice via the purchases of KeyWillow Consulting, PMC, and SEG Management Consultants. These strategic acquisitions not only expanded our expertise and capabilities but also strengthened our relationships with government clients.

2017

The acquisition of BottomLine Group in 2017 marked a new chapter in our history. As leaders in the learning & enablement and travel space, BottomLine Group opened up new service offerings for us and led the charge into new markets. As our largest acquisition to date, BottomLine Group served as a catalyst for a series of changes in our organization that helped to set the stage for the future.

2018

Following years of tremendous growth, we bid farewell to our offices at 30 Adelaide Street East and moved into our current home at 33 Yonge Street. This move marked a new chapter for Optimus, providing us with a modern, collaborative workspace that reflects our innovative spirit and commitment to fostering teamwork.

2021

In 2021, we witnessed our seventh acquisition with the purchase of Unilytics, a data advisory and analytics firm. Combined with our already strong offering, this acquisition allowed us to offer our clients a more robust suite of data and analytics services.

2022

We completed our eighth acquisition in 2022 with the purchase of n-gen People Performance, a training organization specializing in solutions for managing generational differences in the workplace. The dynamic n-gen team is delighted to be able to offer an enriched suite of training services to our Optimus SBR clients.
